Employment Development Department (E.D.D.)
The State of California Employment Development Department (E.D.D.) provides job seekers with unemployment information and/or registration, job-focused recruitment events, specialized assistance for Veterans, Persons with Disabilities, Migrant/Seasonal Farm Workers, information about North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), Youth Opportunities, and much more.

Also, job seekers can register to access Cal-JOBS, an internet-based job board sponsored by the State of California.

EDD Native American Programs
Native American Programs provide training and employment services. The goal is to enrich the Native Americans in a manner consistent with their traditions and cultural values.

United American Indian Involvement
United American Indian Involvement, Inc. (UAII) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides services to the Los Angeles American Indian Community.

Department of Aging
Dedicated to assisting individuals age 55 and older in obtaining job opportunities. Participants must meet age and income requirements. A representative is on site at Build WorkSource.

Department of Public Social Services
DPSS is a Los Angeles County agency providing financial assistance to low-income individuals, the elderly, and persons with disabilities through various programs including TANF (Temporary Aid to Needy Families), Medi-Cal, food stamps, and General Relief. All offices do not provide all services, so it is best to call ahead.

Department of Rehabilitation
The Department of Rehabilitation assists individuals with disabilities in obtaining/retaining employment and maximizing their ability to live independently. Examples of services include, but are not limited to, career assessment/counseling, education, training, job search, interview skills, transportation, independent living skills, and assistive technology. In order to become eligible, applicants will participate in an evaluation and testing process where physical, mental, social and vocational spheres pertaining to the disability in question are evaluated and rated on a severity scale.

Dress 4 Success
Dress 4 Success is a program offered on-site at Build WorkSource. Through Dress 4 Success, job seekers in need of appropriate interview attire may obtain one or more outfits at no cost from the selection of clothing donated by the local community. This service is available to any job seeker whose case management meeting reveals lack of career attire as an employment barrier.

Valley Economic Development Center
VEDC is a community based, non-profit business assistance center focusing primarily on the needs of small businesses in the San Fernando Valley and the City of Los Angeles by providing financing, consulting, training, and workforce assistance.
